An Omelette....Served with Love!

This is the Furnace beside Mashi's shop.Built with bricks and clay...with the foundation of a tin drum stashed beneath the ground.
The frying pan is placed on the furnace...the heat prepares it for an omelette to be fried...minutes of long wait begin to seem like hours...
Mashi puts some Mustard oil on to the pan...twists and turns it as the oil greases it well...it is then placed on the furnace to prepare itself...
The Egg..beaten well is placed on to the pan...the deed is done...everyone waits....
With the Egg starting to fry...Mashi covers the frying pan with a steel plate....

As the contained energy paints the most delicious masterpiece of the evening...we sniff the fried egg...
The Delicacy is ready.....
Mashi wraps the Omelette with paper....and serves!
...and thus we have an Omelette served with Love!
The Day I was Blessed!

In Oct 2011, I was blessed!
Sharing a very important incident that occurred during a very disturbed phase in the month of October, 2011. It had changed my life....really!
It was 2 p.m.An afternoon walk along the banks of the river Hooghly had taken me to this special place, where Idols of "he who shdn't be named"....the great God! are kept. Not to me immersed in the river, countless idols are kept along the ghats, which is a very common sight. But it was the "Girl".....a little girl....who was 'playing' with 'his' idols....gently caressing them, kissing 'his' cheek.....loving him....
It was very strange, for I had never seen anyone get so close to 'his' idol.....and playing with the idols were beyond question.
As I got close...Camera in hand....i behold this strange behavior of the little girl as she played with the idols....as if they were her life....her 'love'.....And then she saw me....gently smiled and said...."Chobi Tulish?".....Her voice still resonates in my ears.. reverberates in my heart. "Amar kota bhalo chobi tule de na..dada"......I clicked about 25 photos....THIS ONE WAS THE LAST......where she...looking straight into my eyes...HER HAND RAISED......I darted from that place...my heart still thumping.....
I had visited the place later....countless times....never found her.....asked about her at the nearby tea shops....CDN'T FIND HER!
But that day had changed my life forever.....I embarked upon a new journey of success and failure....learnt new ways of life.....and it was yesterday that I received a good Job Offer.....perhaps the best I ever got.....
SHARING WITH YOU ALL.....THE SPECIAL MOMENT OF MY LIFE!
This is something which neither you can fathom.....nor can I!

"Green Goblins"...murdered in the Kitchen!

There were families.....mothers,children,fathers....women,offsprings,men.....shrieking their last curses at the human kind.....
The Leader...with a tumor on his forehead...called upon his helpless soldiers....
Help!Help!May the Non-Vegetarian God smile upon us....and send some chicken to the Devourer....they prayed...while,I preyed!.....
And the moment of truth came....I became the murderer of the day....tossed the helpless green beings to the non stick frying pan!!!!!
While Chopped Ladies Fingers waited for their death-upon-the-pan...I watched...as 'they',the remaining green goblins orchestrated a revolution!

A Plastic Sheet & A Peeping Tom!

This is where I found it...One fine morning!

The Plastic Strands came to life...swaying and luring customers to Mashi's Tea Shop....like the Tentacles of a Marine Jelly Fish....

As if by Magic...the strands becan to re-arrange themselves to form what would be my own 'catch of the day'...i waited...

The Plastic Sheet immediately framed him!..I moved close...eerie! Hide and Seek..they went! I started fighting with the light...the shadows...the strands...to click....

As I moved closer..the strands twitched and turned..twisted and twined....Bapai smiled...his shadow flickered...the sun blazed...I clicked!

Ultimately..the Shot of the Day was framed.....

Teen Team - Amrita Bazar Patrika!
I used to scribble from an early age. I am proud to declare and admit that I had learnt a lot copying Mario Miranda,Ram Waeerkar,R.K.Laxman.....I am proud that I can understand the language of their scribbles...and rediscover them each day....Miss Benita Sen, reporter of the Amrita Bazar Patrika, new daily...had arranged for the following interview. Who knrw that the words they had published will foretell what was in store for me.

Growing up on the banks of the River Hooghly!
My 'friends' tell me that MY MIND ALWAYS FLOWS...which is true...
The sole reason for this is that, I have grown up on the banks of a River...the river Hooghly...which is constantly flowing. Each fleeting instant of life is renewed by new gushes of water...each moment of sorrow is filled with that of happiness again...never stagnant...the gurgling waters of the Hooghly river, on whose ever-flowing currents I had surrendered myself and had plunged into its warm embrace....is what makes my mind FLOW....I sit beside the river..when I have to think...when I am down...when I am happy....its a witness to how a little boy had grown up to be a MAN. O great River...Flow On!
